You are a highly valued customer of the Amos A. Phelps & Son Insurance Agency and we take great pride in the services that we provide to you. Because we have relationships with several insurance carriers and wholesalers we are usually able to offer you a variety of coverage choices and customize an insurance program to meet your specific needs.
In most instances, our firm is paid a sales commission, which is fixed or based on a percentage of the premium you pay for the policy. The commission percentages are set by the insurance company, not by us, and are included as a part of the premium you pay. Commissions vary by company, but our advice to you will be based on what we feel is suitable for the needs you have communicated to us and not on the amount of commission we will receive.
We may also be eligible for various forms of incentive compensation including contingent commissions, and other awards or bonuses. Incentive commissions are based on a number of factors that may include: the level of premium written, retention, growth, profitability, or other performance measures established by the insurers with whom we do business.
It is usually impossible to know at the time of placement whether a policy will or will not contribute to our potential eligibility for future compensation from the insurer. Also, any additional compensation we receive from an insurer is paid to our firm and not to the individual employee of the agency who is working with you to obtain the insurance products you have requested.
